Electrical and Electronic Engineering Course
Electronic Properties Research Group

With a research focus on the electronic properties that underlie material behavior, Hidenobu Mori applies this understanding to the development of power-generation devices. In the classroom, he emphasizes hands-on exercises such as experimental report writing to deepen students' grasp of the material.

Improving the Performance of Thermoelectric Conversion Materials

Improving the Performance of Thermoelectric Conversion Materials

What students can learn

Students explore techniques for fabricating thermoelectric materials and learn to measure electrical properties using electronic instrumentation.

Thermoelectric conversion converts thermal energy directly into electrical energy, offering a promising means of harnessing waste heat. This research investigates oxide-based and conductive-polymer thermoelectric materials with the aim of overcoming the limitations of conventional materials. Because Japan imports the majority of its energy resources, thermoelectric materials are drawing growing attention as one potential approach to addressing the nation's energy challenges.
