Micro-convexity isotropy evaluation of the surface topography processed by precision rolling

  The micro-convexity isotropy of surface topography influences the function performance of the engineering surface greatly. In this paper a evaluation method is proposed, which is based on the application of fractal geometry theory. Through the Fourier transform of the discreate data of the profile measured by the stylus instrument, we obtained the power spectrum and the fractal dimension of the profile.And then the spectral moments of the profile and the surface are found. By these parameters the evaluation method is proposed. This study shows that the micro-convexity of the surface topography processed by precision rolling is anisotropic.

Characterization of Engineering Surface by Fractal Analysis

  This paper proposes a quantitative evaluation method of fractal surface roughness which influences greatly the performance of the surface. This method is based on the application of fractal geometory theory. The fractal dimension of the profile is obtained by the Fourier transform of the discrere profile data measured by the stylus instrument. The 2nd and 4th order spectral moments according to the relationship between the surface and the profile spectral moments. By use of these parameters, a new method for evaluating surface texture's isotropy is presented. This method is proved to be useful by the comparison with the experimental results already reported in the past.

Study on the Improvement of Physical Properties by CO2 Laser Heat-Treatment

  This paper provides C02 laser heat-teatment technique to sythesize a ceramic high-temperature superconductor. Laser heat-treatment can reducethe manufacturing time incomparison with an electrical furnace heat-treatment. Laser processing is very quick and convenient to heat-treat. therefore, both an improvement of physical properties and an achievement of quick manufacturing can be relized with the proposed laser heat-treatment technique. The availability of this proposed technique is confirmed through experiments which use Y-Ba-Cu-O superconductor.

Laser clad lubricant layer with graphite/BN

  A composite thin clad layer containing graphite and hexagonal boron nitride powders was tried to form on stainless steel sheet using a continuous-wave CO2 gas laser. The layer formed only with boron nitride has no appreciable effect on friction reduction. Increase in graphite content in the coatings led to lower friction. A good lubricant layer with the lowest friction and the longest life was obtained from the powder mixture with higher graphite content about 90 vol.%.

切削表面のカオス特徴抽出

 比較的滑らかな非周期的断面曲線の特徴抽出に有用な新しい解析法についてカオスの概念を基に述べている.切削加工面から得られる滑らかな非周期的断面曲線を,ストレンジ・アトラクター,リアプノフ数,相関積分と相関次元の関係などについて解析した結果,カオス特徴が抽出されることからカオス解析の有用性が確認された.

フラクタル幾何学を応用した工学表面の評価に関する研究

  It is useful to apply the fractal dimension as parameter that indicates the complexity of irregular engineering surface. The fractal dimension of the profile is obtained by the power spectaral density etc. Many studies using fractal theory have been reported. This report proposes that the methodology to calculation according to the relationship between neighboring data, and shows this relationship has fractal- like property. Furthermore according to vary sampling interval, it is made clear the effect of scaling.

無方向性電磁鋼板のCO2レーザ切断面品位に関する研究

  The core of electric transformer and motor are made of magnetic steel. The performance of transformer is so much influenced by air gap existing on butt joint of its core. This paper deals with machinability of non-oriented magnetic steel and magnetic steel sheet and magnetic properties of workpieces after CO2 laser cutting in various conditions. For estimation of the cutting edge are measured. The magnetic property was investigated by measuring permeability on the butt joint of cutting edges.
