Aim:

The purpose of this special session is to provide a mixtued place for theoretical researchers and application researchers. Especially, this SS focuses on medical and healthcare applications. Because the medical and healthcare field treats imbalanced data, i.e., few disease data and huge amount of health data, this SS would like to invite theoretical researches on imbalanced data analysis. We hope that this SS will provide new paradigms for evolutional computation.

· Bioinformatics, medical informatics, pattern recognition

Submission instructions:

Manuscripts should be prepared and submitted through the paper submission website of [http://sites.ieee.org/cec2015/paper_submission/] as same as regular submissions. It is the responsibility of the authors to make sure that papers submitted to the special session choose “Main research topic” as “SS38. Imbalzaned data analysis and medical/healthcare applications”. All papers submitted to the special session will be subject to the same peer-review review procedure as the regular papers. Please email the organizers for any query and before/after submitting a paper.

IEEE CIS Task force on Fuzzy Logic in Medical Science

Organization: This task force belongs to the Fuzzy Systems Technical Committee (FSTC) of the Computational Intelligence Society (CIS) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Inc. (IEEE).

Objective: Fuzzy logic is an effective approach to represent knowledge. And, medical science requires medical knowledge to handle medical information using computer. Thus, fuzzy logic and medical siceince are good partners to develop each other. This task force aims to gather not only computer scientists and also medical physicians to give a location where they discuss new problems, new ideas, etc. This TF will organize special sessions in WCCI and/or SSCI and edit special issues.
